Raman Hasymau 
Tenor

Tenor Raman Hasymau is a soloist with the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc, where since the 2023/24 season his roles have included Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Alfredo (La traviata), Ismaele (Nabucco), Jeník (The Bartered Bride) and Števa (Jenůfa), among others. In the current season he also adds Don Ottavio in a new production of Don Giovanni to his repertoire.

Since the 2024/25 season he has additionally been engaged as a guest artist at the National Theatre in Prague, appearing at both the State Opera and the Estates Theatre as Schmidt (Werther), Beppe (Pagliacci) and the First Armed Man (Die Zauberflöte). He is regularly involved in the National Theatre’s concert and educational formats, including the Smetana Matinée and Die Zauberflöte for Children, and is scheduled to appear in a new production of the opera Kolotoč (Carousel).

Recent guest engagements have taken him to the Silesian Theatre in Opava, where he appeared as Števa in Janáček’s Jenůfa. In the 2025/26 season he will make major role debuts at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava in Philip Glass’s The Trial, Rossini’s Moses and Pharaoh, Prokofiev’s The Gambler and Verdi’s La traviata.

Since 2019 Raman Hasymau has toured extensively in Germany and Switzerland, singing Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) and Ismaele (Nabucco) in fully staged productions across a wide range of theatres and concert halls. He has also appeared on prominent international stages such as the Munich Philharmonic, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Konzerthaus Berlin and venues in Lucerne, with further performances throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

His concert and festival work includes appearances at the Baroque Festival in Olomouc, the VéNégy Festival and Theatre Meeting in Hungary, Opera under the May Sky in Litomyšl, the Horem Dolem Festival in Provodov, the Janáček Brno Festival and the Opera 2025 Festival in Prague. In 2025 he was selected as one of only eight tenors worldwide to take part in the 25th Great Tenors Tournament in Poland, where he represented the Czech Republic.

He studied singing at the Prague Conservatory (2014–2018) and continued his education at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (2018–2022). He has taken part in masterclasses with Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Gabriela Beňačková, Kateřina Kněžíková, Adam Plachetka and Mariusz Kwiecień, and continues to refine his vocal technique under the guidance of Kateřina Kněžíková.

Tenor Raman Hasymau has received critical acclaim for an agile voice with a pleasing timbre and a finely judged balance between vocal and dramatic performance. Critics have praised him as “the finest male voice of the evening”, noting “a fine vibrant tenor with excellent characterisation” as Števa and “a beautifully placed voice and impeccable Czech” as Jeník.
