Simone Delbene
Conductor & Trumpeter

Simone Delbene  was born in Ivrea in 1995 and he approached the world of music at the age of 6 at the courses held by the music band of Borgo d'Ale, where he currently resides.

At the age of 14, under the guidance of Fabrizio Patrucco, he undertook a course to prepare for the entrance examination for the Bachelor's Degree course in Trumpet. After graduating from high school, he began his studies at the Conservatorio A. Vivaldi Alessandria under the guidance of Mario Bracalente.

Both during the 2016/2017 academic year and the following year, at the Conservatorio A. Vivaldi Alessandria, he won a scholarship to participate in a trumpet masterclass with Philip Smith (first trumpet of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra until 2014) held at the University of Georgia (USA). Here he held a final concert in the concert hall of the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.

Graduated from the three-year course with top marks on 19/03/2019 under the guidance of Ivano Buat at the A. Vivaldi Conservatory of Alessandria. 

2019/2020, he took an annual course in the class of Éric Aubier at the Conservatoire de Rueil-Malmaison.

He defended his final thesis for the Master degree in Trumpet in Contemporary Music, graduating with 109/110 under the guidance of Alberto Brini at the Luca Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia.

Simone Delbene also took part in several masterclasses with Davide Simoncini, Giuseppe Bodanza, Allen Vizzutti, Max Sommerhalder, Éric Aubier and Ole Edvard Antonsen, Gérard Métrailler, Jordi Albert.

He won an audition at 'I Giovani de La Verdi' in Milan, where he held the role of first trumpet until 2020. He was also a suitable candidate for the orchestra of 'I Talenti Musicali' in Turin and the youth orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with which he performed several concerts with nationally and internationally renowned soloists and actors such as Andrea Bacchetti and Dario Vergassola. He won the "A. Vivaldi" scholarship for scholastic merit at the "A. Vivaldi" Conservatory of Alessandria in the 2017/2018 academic year. 

He performs concerts in various formations: in a duo with organ and with small chamber music groups. In addition to his concert activity, he collaborates with various organizations on the teaching side and the development of trumpet and ensemble music teaching.

He has won several prizes in national and international competitions including 1st Prize at the Music Competition "IMKA" in Sarajevo.

In 2022, he took up the study of conducting, which he continues to this day, under the guidance of Maestro Ennio Nicotra at the Ilya Musin Society.

In 2022, he was curator of the "Fiori di Pesco" (Peach Blossom) exhibition with the inauguration of the Organ of the Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Borgo d'Ale.

He is currently completing a career project as a conductor at the Tiziano Rossetti Academy in Lugano (Switzerland) under the direction of Maestro Sergio Vecerina.

He studied composition with Paolo Ferrara at the Conservatorio A. Vivaldi Alessandria and with Gianni Sarasso score reading and composition.

To date, he is Artistic Director of the Musical Season "Notes for FAI", Music Director of the Biella Chamber Orchestra, which he founded in 2023, and Music Director of the Municipal Band of Borgo d'Ale. Further he conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica Città di Roma in 2023 and in May 2024.

He qualified for the teaching of Rhythmic Theory and Musical Perception at the Conservatorio di musica "Luca Marenzio" di Brescia.

He made his debut as a conductor in June 2023 on the podium of the City of Rome Symphony Orchestra, where he performed Mozart's Symphony No. 29 and arias from the opera Don Giovanni.

Upcoming engagements will take him to conduct in the cities of Lugano (Switzerland), Biella and Rome (Italy) and to play in a duo organ and trumpet in the city of Genoa (Italy). In August of this year he will be an active student in  an Opera Workshop about "Il Trovatore"  in Florence with Antonello Allemandi.
