Jana Marković
Mezzo-Soprano

Jana Marković made her opera debut in 2019 at the Leipzig Opera as the Sandman in Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel". In the same year, she made her debut as Prince Orlofsky in J. Strauss' operetta "Die Fledermaus" at Belvedere Palace in Weimar.

 

She studied at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig, where she completed her master's degree in opera in 2020. In the same year she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Opera Course in Beeskow.

From 2020-2022, the mezzo-soprano was a member of the Opera Studio at the Landestheater Linz and in 2022 she made her debut as Carmen at the Festival in the Schlossgarten in Neustrelitz.

Jana Marković has been an ensemble member at Stadttheater Giessen since the 2022/23 season. Her first role was the female lead in "Gefährliche Operette" by Gordon Kampe. The piece was awarded the Operetta-Frog by Bayerischer Rundfunk. In 2023, Marković also performed "Gefährliche Operette" at the Stuttgart State Opera.

At Stadttheater Giessen she embodied, among others, Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", Sesto in "La clemenza di Tito", Maddalena in "Rigoletto", Arsamene in "Xerxes", and Olga in "Eugene Onegin".
