Americo Caretti
Conductor
Americo Caretti was born in Rome, Italy, in 1972. He completed his initial musical studies at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome in 1988, graduating with honours in clarinet.
He has performed with many prestigious orchestras, including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova and the Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia, and worked with conductors such as Giuseppe Sinopoli, Myung-Whun Chung and Valery Gergiev.
Americo Caretti continued his studies at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, obtaining diplomas in orchestral conducting and composition in 2010 and 2011 under the guidance of Maestro Dario Lucantoni and Maestro Francesco Carotenuto.
In 2012, he also graduated with a 2nd level degree in Musical Disciplines – Conducting, with honours.
Since 2013, he has studied orchestral conducting in numerous courses and in international masterclasses with Maestro Ennio Nicotra.
Americo Caretti has conducted numerous orchestras including the Orchestra of the Fondazione Teatro Massimo of Palermo (Italy), the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra (USA), the Orquesta Sinfónica de Falcón, the Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional de Venezuela, Nevsky Symphony Orchestra (Russia) and others. From 2014 to 2019 he was Music Director at the Opera in Roma.
